Reward Offered By SPCA After Rooster Found Abandoned On Long Island
The SPCA is offering a reward for information that leads to the arrest of a person who abandoned a malnourished rooster on Long Island. The Suffolk County SPCA located an abandoned rooster on Thursday, Oct. 14 that had been left along the side of the roadway at the intersection of Whiskey Road and Creekside Drive in Middle Island. According to SPCA investigators, the young rooster was found to be thirsty and hungry and most likely recently abandoned with no food or water available. Body Found On Side Of Long Island Road
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body on the side of a Long Island road. A person walking by discovered the body in Middle Island on Whiskey Road, near Creekside Drive on Sunday, July 11 at approximately 7:30 a.m., Suffolk County Police said. The body was taken to the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause of death and identity of the person. One Killed In Fiery Single-Vehicle Long Island Crash
A person was killed in a fiery single-vehicle crash overnight on Long Island. It happened on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at approximately 11:45 p.m. in Middle Island. A 2007 Infiniti sedan was traveling southbound on Rocky Point Road, south of Whiskey Road, when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree, caught fire and became fully engulfed, Suffolk County Police said. The Middle Island Fire Department responded and extinguished the blaze. The driver, who was the sole occupant in the vehicle, has not yet been identified by police and was pronounced dead at the scene.
