Suffolk County Police Second Precinct Crime Section officers responded to Walt Whitman High School, located in Huntington Station on West Hills Road around midday on Thursday, Feb. 15, the student allegedly made the threat. The New York State Public High School Athletic Association, or NYSPHSAA, announced its 2022-2023 “School of Distinction” list on Thursday, July 27. Out of all 84 schools given the award, 35 were from Long Island.
