Nassau County Man Accused Of Robbing Long Island Bank A suspect has been charged after a midday bank robbery on Long Island earlier this month. It happened Saturday, Oct. 2 in Smithtown. The suspect entered TD Bank, located at 714 Smithtown Bypass, at approximately 11:50 a.m. and handed a teller a note indicating he had a gun and demanding cash, Suffolk County Police said.  The teller complied with the suspect’s demands and gave him cash from the drawer, according to police. Suffolk County Man Apprehended After Bank Robbery With Child In Car, Police Say A 40-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly robbing a Long Island bank and attempting to flee with his 3-year-old child in the car, police said. Suffolk County resident Philip Ferrito, age 40, of Smithtown allegedly robbed the Bethpage TD Bank in Nassau County shortly after 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 6. It is alleged that Ferrito approached a teller at the bank and passed a note demanding money, to which to teller complied, while Ferrito received an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing to his vehicle.
