Two Teen Swimmers Missing, One Rescued Near Rockaway Beach Police dive teams and first responders are back in the water off Rockaway Beach searching for two teens who went missing while swimming. The incident took place around 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 1,  when New York City Police officers in Rockaway responded to a 911 call of a water rescue at the Beach 96th Street and Broadwalk, said the NYPD.
