Long Island Couple Charged With Harassment, Lose Jobs After Lirr Incident
A Long Island man and woman have been charged after allegedly racially harassing a family on a Long Island Railroad train at Penn Station.
Suffolk County residents Justin Likerman, age 37, of Ronkonkoma, and Kristin Digesaro, age 39, of Huntington, were arrested in connection with an incident that took place on Monday, Jan. 10, said the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

Lirr Worker Sentenced For Overtime Scheme
One of five Long Island Rail Road employees charged with a conspiracy to defraud the MTA through an overtime scheme has been sentenced to three months in prison.
Joseph Balestra, age 52, of Blue Point, was sentenced in Manhattan federal court on Tuesday, Jan. 4, according to the Manhattan District Attorney's Office.
Balestra, who must also repay $109,641 in restitution, said during sentencing, he took full responsibility for his role in the scheme.

Dogfighting Ring Targeted In Nassau County, NYC Raids
More than two dozens dogs, drugs and guns were seized during raids in Uniondale and Manhattan in connection with a dogfighting ring.
The predawn raids were carried out on Friday, Oct. 11, by the NYPD, in conjunction with the ASPCA, the Manhattan District Attorney's office, the NYPD said.
The department said they are currently assisting in the removal, forensic evidence collection, medical care and sheltering of 28 dogs seized from a multi-scene investigation.
Two unidentified people were also arrested during the raids, police said.
