Update: Long Island Care Facility Responds After Ex-Worker Accused Of Mistreating Resident
This story has been updated. A former employee at a care facility on Long Island is accused of using excessive force on a disabled resident. Jamal Walker, age 41, of Coram, was arrested Thursday, Nov. 10, according to Riverhead Town Police. Officers were called to Little Flower Children and Family Services in Wading River on Sunday, June 25, about an employee allegedly mistreating a resident. A 16-year-old was arrested on Long Island after authorities said he was caught breaking the windows at a school and damaging vehicles. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving damaged property at Little Flower Children and Family Services in Wading River at about 5:45 p.m. on Friday, March 11, according to the Riverhead Town Police Department. Update: Two Long Island teenagers who went missing have been found. The Riverhead Police Department announced on Thursday, Jan. 27 that it was searching for 13-year-old Maria Mete and 14-year-old Jackeline Carballo.
