Community Rallies To Support Family Of Late Suffolk County First Grader Donations have poured in to support the family of a Long Island elementary school student who died earlier this week. Daniel Rubi, a first-grade student at Tackan Elementary School in the hamlet of Nesconset, died on Monday, March 14, according to representatives at GoFundMe. A GoFundMe set up in Daniel's memory has received more than $29,700 as of Thursday, March 17, passing its $20,000 goal one day after it was created.
