Detectives from the Nassau County Police Department’s Second Precinct responded to the pavilion at the Theodore Roosevelt Park on West End Avenue at approximately 8:40 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8.
Upon arrival, investigators found that a suspect had drawn seven 10-inch swastikas that were drawn with a purple marker on the structure. It is believed that the incident took place between Wednesday, Aug. 7, and 8:40 a.m. on Thursday.
The investigation into the swastikas is ongoing. No suspect has been identified. Anyone with information has been asked to contact the Nassau County Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-244-TIPS.
