Hudson Valley Man On Tracks Injured After Jumping Out Of Way Of Oncoming Train
A man walking along the train tracks in Rockland County was struck on the shoulder by an NJ Transit passenger train as he jumped out of the way. Dave Steckel of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said the incident occurred in Nanuet around 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, as the train on the Pascack Valley Line passed the unidentified man. Person Struck By Train In Hudson Valley
A person was injured after being struck by an MTA train in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Rockland County around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27 in Spring Valley. According to MTA officials, the person was struck by a train departing Spring Valley Station at the Dutch Lane crossing. Service on the Pascack Valley Line is suspended in both directions between Spring Valley and Nanuet, officials said. New Jersey Transit is providing substitute bus services. 19: Here's When Latest Metro-North Schedule Change Starts
As ridership continues to plummet to historic lows amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the MTA announced it will once again be altering the schedule for Metro-North trains. Beginning on Monday, April 13, Metro-North will operate on an hourly schedule on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines during both the weekdays and weekends. The Pascack Valley and Port Jervis lines will remain on Saturday schedules, with hourly service at some points of the day. Two Teens Killed After Porsche Crashes Onto Tracks, Bursts Into Flames In Area
Two teenagers were killed and a third was injured after a Porsche crashed off of an overpass onto train tracks before bursting into flames in Rockland County. The two-vehicle crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13 in Pearl River on Route 304 in the vicinity of the Crooked Hill Road overpass. Responding officers reported one of the vehicles was on fire along with serious injuries to multiple occupants. Metro-North Fare Hikes Set To Take Effect
Some Metro-North riders will see their trips becoming more expensive as an announced MTA toll and fare increase takes effect on Sunday. A near 4 percent fare hike was approved by MTA officials earlier this year, though it won’t impact rides west of the Hudson on the Pascack Valley and Port Jervis lines.
