Man, Woman From Hudson Valley Charged After Missing 14-Year-Old Killed In Crash
A man and a woman from a behavioral institute for young adults and children have been charged in connection with a crash that killed a missing 14-year-old boy. The crash took place in Columbia County on Friday, Sept. 23 in Clermont on Route 9. According to Trooper AJ Hicks, Romelo Cruze was killed after being hit by a vehicle. While the State Police were investigating the fatal crash, Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health in in Dutchess County, located in Red Hook, reported that Cruze, a resident of their facility, was missing, Hicks said. Good Samaritans Help State Police Protect Man With Special Needs In Northern Westchester
A group of Good Samaritans gave an assist to New York State Police troopers in Northern Westchester to stop a man who was allegedly abusing a person with special needs. New York State Police troopers were dispatched to the Cortlandt Town Center at approximately 2:50 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, where there were reports of a man striking another man with special needs inside a van. The investigation into the allegations determined that 64-year-old Jean Donatien, of Peekskill, an employee of Opengate, slapped and knocked his victim’s head against the van window. Two Women From Area Nabbed For Endangering Welfare Of Disabled Person
Two home caregivers tasked with taking care of a physically disabled person were arrested this week after allegedly endangering their patient’s welfare. New York State Police troopers in Kingston arrested Poughkeepsie residents LaCher Rhodes, 41, and Allysha Ebanks, 31, who were both charged with endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person, a felony.
