Storm System Packed With Drenching Downpours Sweeping Through Region

A line of thunderstorms packed with heavy rain is sweeping through the region ahead of a cold front on Friday morning, Aug. 18.

Parts of the area have seen up to an inch of rainfall in less than an hour with localized flooding reported in some spots.

Despite the soggy start, Friday will be dry most of the day with partly sunny skies and a high temperature of around 80 degrees.

Clouds will decrease in the afternoon, with mostly clear skies overnight, leading into a bright and pleasant weekend.

Saturday, Aug. 19 will be mostly sunny and breezy with a high temperature in the upper 70s.

It will warm up on Sunday, Aug. 20 with sunny skies and a high temperature in the mid-80s.

It will stay dry on Monday, Aug. 21 with plenty of sun and a high temperature into the upper 80s.
