Man Steals Emergency Vehicle From Capital Region Fire House, Police Say
A man is facing charges after allegedly stealing a fire utility vehicle from a fire department in the region. The 2019 Chevrolet truck was stolen at around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, from the Eagle Mills Fire Department in Troy, according to the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect reportedly arrived on a bicycle and placed the bike into the truck before driving it out of the parking lot, heading westbound on Brunswick Road. Inmate At Capital Region Jail Accused Of Throwing Feces At Corrections Officers
An inmate at a Capital Region jail is facing new charges after allegedly throwing feces at corrections officers. The incident happened Monday, Sept. 26, at the Albany County jail, according to the sheriff’s office. Ian Neely, age 27, was charged with felony aggravated harassment of an employee by an inmate after the alleged attack. At the time of the incident, Neely was being held on a weapons possession charge. He was arraigned at the Town of Colonie Criminal Court before being taken back to the Albany County jail. Capital District Man Sentenced For Sexual Contact With Children
A man from the Capital District will spend decades in prison for sexually abusing a child in Albany County. Ronald Swartz, age 55, of Watervliet, was sentenced to 40 years to life in prison Thursday, June 2, after being convicted on two counts of predatory sexual assault against a child. Investigators said Swartz had sexual contact with a victim under the age of 13 in the Town of Colonie in 2007.
