Teenage Bicyclist Seriously Injured In Suffolk County Crash: Police
A teenage bicyclist was seriously injured in a motor vehicle crash in Brightwaters, Suffolk County police announced on Saturday, Dec. 7. The 14-year-old was riding westbound on Howells Road near Manatuck Boulevard when he attempted to cross the street and was struck by a westbound 2011 Honda CRV at 10:25 a.m., according to police. The vehicle, driven by 36-year-old Nube Cajamarca of Bay Shore, remained on the scene. Cajamarca was not injured, police said. A driver and passenger were seriously injured, and another person was also hospitalized after an overnight Long Island crash. It happened just before 2 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 18 in Brentwood. Edin Quinones, age 20, of Mastic was driving a 2007 Honda Accord eastbound on Express Drive North, just east of Washington Avenue, when the car veered to the right and struck two parked vehicles, Suffolk County Police said. Police are investigating a Long Island crash involving an ambulance in which a person suffered serious injuries. It happened around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 22 in Miller Place, according to Suffolk County Police. An ambulance with its lights and sirens activated was traveling westbound on Route 25A when an eastbound 2008 Subaru Forester, driven attempted to make a left turn onto Parkside Avenue and collided with the ambulance.
