Police are searching for a masked man who allegedly slashed a Bay Shore driver in Central Islip on Halloween, Suffolk County authorities announced on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Woman Killed, Driver Arrested For Impairment Following Crash: Suffolk Police
A crash claimed the life of a 69-year-old woman in Dix Hills on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 8, Suffolk County police announced. Angela Sarant, of Dix Hills, was struck while walking on Vanderbilt Parkway at Village Hill Drive at approximately 3:07 p.m., investigators said. She was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where she was pronounced dead. Police have charged two men in the killing of a 32-year-old Amityville man found dead on a Wantagh roadway in September, according to Nassau County authorities. Police say Anderson Ramirez, 34, of Central Islip, and Alex R. DeLarosa, 27, of Bay Shore, were arrested on Dec. 4 in connection to the fatal shooting of Yinauri A. Taveras, 32. Authorities are asking for help in locating a missing teenager from Long Island. Jenna Ceruti, age 17, of Bay Shore, was last seen on Sunday, Nov. 3, according to the New York State Missing Persons Clearinghouse. She is believed to be in the local area. According to David Steckel with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Christopher Reitzel, of Medford, was hit by LIRR Train 64 at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10, west of the Sayville Train station when he was on the tracks without authorization. A resident was killed in a Long Island house fire. The blaze broke out just before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27 in Bay Shore.
