The weather service issued the warning on Tuesday, Nov. 12, and it includes Dutchess County. They also reminded residents that potential ignition sources include cigarettes and to avoid all open burning.
Officials said that since Friday, Nov. 8, agencies across Dutchess County have responded to 36 brush fires and 98 calls to investigate smoke/burning complaints or extinguish controlled burns.
Local fire departments have deployed across the county and provided assistance in other areas in the region, including Orange County.
"Our 911 Communications Center is currently up-staffed to help with increased call volume," county officials said. "Thank you to our local firefighters, first responders, and 911 dispatchers for all you do to keep us safe!"
