FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- James J. Caramanna, of Fair Lawn, died Monday, Nov. 28. He was 90.
Born and raised in Paterson, he resided in Fair Lawn for 59 years.
A graduate of Eastside High School, he attended the University of Miami and New York University. He proudly served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
A tireless advocate for those suffering from mental illness, he was a member of the Bergen County Mental Health Board, Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness and Family Care Plus of Paramus. He served as a Scout master of Boy Scout Troop #53 in Radburn during the 1970s. …

Jane Wertheim, 92, Of River Vale
RIVER VALE, N.J. -- Jane Wertheim, of River Vale, died Wednesday, Nov. 30. She was 92.
She was born Dec. 25, 1923, in Binghamton, N.Y. After graduating Binghamton Central High School and secretarial school, she relocated to Washington, D.C. and worked for the Department of Defense during World War II.
After the war, she returned to Binghamton and on Aug. 16, 1947, she married Larry Wertheim of the Bronx. He predeceased her in 2005. She also was predeceased by her brother, Seymour.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — Matthew Frederick Beyer, 35, of Poughkeepsie, died Sunday, Nov. 27.Born Sept. 19, 1981, in Albany, he was the son of Thomas Beyer and Jeanne Gaffney Beyer.

WYCKOFF, N.J. — Eric Ciszkowski, of Wyckoff, died on Nov. 26. He was 60.Born in Wolomin, Poland, he moved to the United States in 1981, living in Wallington for 18 years, Mahwah for 10 years and Wyckoff the past seven years.
