Dover Residents Voting For Town Council, Town Supervisor

DOVER, N.Y. -- Dover residents will be choosing a new town supervisor when they head to the polls on election day.

Republican Ted Jensen is running against Democrat Linda French. Current Supervisor Ryan Courtien is not seeking re-election.

Jensen said people see Dover as a town in decay that does not attract businesses, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. He said he wants to turn the old state hospital in Wingdale into a college, according to the Journal.

French, who currently serves as councilwoman, said she would like to bring in economic development and rebuild the community, according to the Journal.

Republican incumbent Richard Yeo is running for re-election on the town board. Republican Joy Godin and Democrat Jane Meunier-Gorman are also running for the two open seats on the board.

Democrat Joanne Graham is running against Republican Frank Perpepaj for Highway Superintendent.
