Quinn will talk about her book, “Freedom Journey: Black Civil War Soldiers and the Hills Community, Westchester County, New York”, which is a history of 35 African-American Civil War soldiers, told through letters, recruit rosters, and pension records. Quinn is a professor of history and founding member of the United States Colored Troops Institute (USCTI) at Hartwick College in Oneonta.
The talk is free and open to the public. It will take place in the Henry A. Wallace Center at the FDR Presidential Library and Home at 2 p.m.
After the talk, Quinn will be available to sign copies of her at the New Deal Store.
