NASA is assuring the public that a Massachusetts astronaut is in good health after recent photos of the woman sparked concerns to the contrary. Pilot Suni Williams, from the town of Needham in Norfolk County, has been stuck aboard the International Space Station since early June after NASA discovered multiple problems with the Boeing-built Starliner spacecraft. The 59-year-old retired Navy officer, along with her colleague Butch Wilmore, were originally scheduled to return home after eight days. A dozen of Tufts University's 50 lacrosse players were sidelined earlier this month with a muscle-destroying illness following a grueling workout led by a Navy SEAL, school officials said. A former town supervisor in the Hudson Valley has died following an illness. Orange County resident Thomas F. Nosworthy Jr, of the town of Wallkill, died on Monday, Sept. 9, at Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown. He was 84. The son of the late Thomas F. Nosworthy Sr. and Beatice Nosworthy, he was born on May 10, 1940, in New York City, according to his obituary. Tom was a US Navy veteran who served active duty with NORAD in the Pacific during the Cold War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1181.
