Copper Pipe Thieves Caught In Action At Building In Region, Police Say Two Hudson Valley men were nabbed while allegedly stealing copper wire and pipes in the basement of a building. The incident occurred in Rockland County around 2:45 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, at a building on Patriot Hills Drive in Stony Point. According to Lt. Daniel Schoales of the Stony Point Police, officers responding to the building on a suspicious person call could power tools being used inside. The officers, with help from Stony Point Police detectives and Rockland County Sheriff's deputies, were able to call two men out of the building without incident.  …

Foiled Oil Heist: Trio Steals Cooking Grease From Capital Region Restaurant, Police Say Three men are facing charges after they were allegedly caught stealing used cooking oil from a restaurant in the region. A Rensselaer County business owner in Castleton on Hudson called police at around 8 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, saying three men were on their property without permission, according to New York State Police. The owner told investigators that the men were attempting to steal used cooking oil that is saved and sold to a biodiesel company for recycling. Hartford County resident Kimberly Meyer, age 54, of Bristol, was arrested on Monday, July 3 in front of the home on Bluff Avenue in Westerly, Rhode Island, Westerly Police Chief Paul Gingerella told Daily Voice.  Gingerella said Meyer was previously warned not to be on the property so when officers found her in front of the home she was arrested.
