Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Crash: Suffolk County Police A pedestrian was struck by a car and seriously injured on Commack Road in Deer Park, Suffolk County Police said on Friday, Dec. 13. The crash occurred when Daniel Martinez, 49, of North Babylon, was driving his 2022 Hyundai Elantra southbound near Marcus Boulevard and hit a man who was in the roadway at 6:10 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11, according to police. 44-Year-Old Killed After Being Struck By Car While Working On Pickup Truck On Blue Point Road A man who was working on a pickup truck on a Long Island roadway was killed after being struck by a car. It happened around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in Blue Point. A 54-year-old East Patchogue woman was driving a 2009 Hyundai Elantra southbound on Kennedy Avenue near Pine Street when the vehicle struck a man working on a 2006 Dodge Ram parked on the northbound side of the road. Fatal Crash: 63-Year-Old From Farmingdale ID'd As Victim In West Babylon A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Long Island. It happened around 12:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, in West Babylon, when the victim was driving a 2023 Hyundai Elantra northbound on Great East Neck Road at Railroad Avenue.  The car veered into the southbound lanes, crossed all lanes, and struck bushes and trees on the side of the roadway, according to Suffolk County Police. Thomas Parietti, age 63, of Farmingdale, was transported to Good Samaritan Universal Hospital in West Babylon, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
