Tragic Accident Leaves Boy, 12, Dead, Girl, 11, Critical In Albany A 12-year-old boy was killed, and an 11-year-old girl is in critical condition after falling through the ice on a Capital Region lake. The incident occurred in Albany around 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, at Washington Park Lake near the park's lake house. New Hampton Man Sentenced To Prison For Sexual Abuse Of A Child A Hudson Valley man was sentenced to years behind bars for sexually abusing a child under the age of 11. According to Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler, Justin Babb, age 41, of New Hampton, a hamlet in Wawayanda, was sent to prison for 18 years and 10 years post-release supervision on Wednesday, Dec. 4.
