Chicken Lovers Rejoice: First Chick-fil-A Opens In Capital Region Hey chicken lovers, it's time to chow down when the first Chick-fil-A in the Capital Region opens in Albany on Thursday, Dec. 5. Famous for its chicken sandwiches, soup and salads, and superb service, the new restaurant is also locally owned by Michael Gray, who has worked his way up in the company for the past 13 years.  The restaurant will employ approximately 120 full- and part-time team members. Update: Woman Stabbed Man Found Dead On Capital Region Roadway, Police Say A woman has been charged in connection with the death of a man who was found lying on a roadway in the region. Emergency crews in Albany were called about someone lying in the roadway near the intersection of Commerce Avenue and North Manning Boulevard shortly after 5 a.m. Monday, July 29. Officers found the man face down and unresponsive. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
