3 Rescued After Dive Boat Sinks Near 1888 Shipwreck Off Nassau County Three people were rescued after their diving boat sank near the site of a shipwreck off the coast of Long Island. It happened at around 4:15 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, nearly three miles southwest of Long Beach. The US Coast Guard Sector Long Island responded after receiving text messages saying a boat was taking on water near the SS Iberia shipwreck with three people in the water.
