ID Released Of Woman Fatally Struck Crossing Long Island Roadwau The identity has been released of a woman who was struck and killed in a crash on Long Island. The incident happened at about 1:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, on Hempstead Turnpike near the intersection of Uniondale Avenue in Uniondale.  A 25-year-old man driving a 1995 Lexus westbound on the turnpike hit the woman as she was crossing the road, according to Nassau County Police said.
