Breaking: Two Killed In Raging Capital Region House Fire Two people were found dead inside a Capital Region home after a raging fire destroyed the structure. Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple, Sr., said the fire started around 2 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, in the town of Knox on Thompsons Lake Road. Sheriff’s Deputies spotted the home fully engulfed in flames. Shortly after, the Knox Fire Department arrived, and with the assistance of the Berne and Altamont Fire Departments, they extinguished the fire. Fire Damages Home In Region Firefighters from six Hudson Valley fire departments saved a home after an automatic fire alarm sent help to the scene. The Rockland County blaze occurred in Orangeburg, at 96 Old Orangeburg Road, on Monday, Dec. 2. Orangeburg Police Capt. Michael Shannon said the fire was initially triggered by an automatic alarm. When firefighters arrived, they found flames that had damaged two rooms of the home.
