Carmel HS Put Into Lockdown During Police Chase: Suspect In Custody
A vehicle pursuit that began on Interstate 84 led to a temporary hold-in-place at a Hudson Valley high school as a precautionary measure and also resulted in the arrest of an Orange County man. The incident started around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8 when a man was reported to be on the highway on I-84 West near I-684 trying to stop cars. Man From Region Killed By Trooper After Pulling Gun, Police Say
A distraught man from the region who threatened self-harm was shot and killed by New York State troopers after allegedly pulling a gun. The incident occurred in Saratoga County around 4 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11, on Route 9 in the parking lot of Bethel Saratoga in Saratoga Springs. Man From Region Killed By State Trooper After Striking Officer With Car, Police Say
A 32-year-old Hudson Valley man was shot and killed by a New York State trooper after allegedly striking the officer with his vehicle. The incident occurred in Sullivan County at 2:20 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, on Rock Hill Drive in the town of Thompson. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, troopers were involved in a vehicle pursuit with the driver, identified as Orange County resident Albert Melendez of Middletown.
