Officers Injured After Being Intentionally Struck By Man Pulled Over On William Floyd Parkway Two police officers were injured after allegedly being intentionally struck by a man pulled over on the William Floyd Parkway, according to Suffolk County Police. It happened Thursday, June 20 at approximately 6:25 p.m. during a traffic stop by police south of Yaphank Commons Drive in Ridge, police said. Robert McDowell was reportedly driving a 2002 Ford van southbound on Smith Road when officers from the Seventh Precinct initiated a traffic stop near Strathmore Ridge Drive at 6:25 p.m., according to police.
