Man Struck, Killed By Lirr Train A man was struck and killed by a train on the Long Island Railroad. The incident took place around 7 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 13, when the unidentified man was hit by a westbound train at Rockville Center, said MTA Spokesman Shams Tarek.  All passengers on the train were transferred to an arriving westbound train that arrived at 7:17 a.m. and continued on their way. Only the Babylon Line was affected, with 15-20 minute delays including two eastbound train cancellations, he added. Brian Quinn, age 45, of Rockville Center, was arrested on Monday, Jan. 11, following the attempted robbery of a Chase Bank in Oceanside, and the robbery of another Chase Bank in Baldwin, said the Nassau County Police. According to detectives, an unknown male, later identified as Quinn, entered the Chase Bank located at 3285 Long Beach Road, and approached the teller, and demanded money, police said. The most recent crash happened around 6:30 p.m. east of Moriches Inlet, when a 50-foot Sea Ray with three people aboard was traveling westbound a quarter mile off Cupsogue Beach at Cupsogue Beach County Park when it struck a drifting boat broadside with a married couple aboard, Suffolk County Police said.
