Man Riding Electric Scooter Dies In West Babylon Crash, Police Say
An investigation is underway after a 43-year-old man was struck and killed by a car while riding an electric scooter on Long Island. The crash happened on Sunrise Highway in West Babylon at about 3:20 a.m. on Monday, April 4, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. Edward Marcuteanu, of Lindenhurst, was riding a Splach electric scooter in the middle eastbound lane near Exit 40 when a 2016 Honda Accord struck him, SCPD reported. Woman With Ties To Mexico, Colombia Wanted On Felony Drug, Conspiracy Charges
Over 10 years after her arrest, state police are still searching for an Ozone Park woman with ties to Mexico and Colombia facing felonies for drug possession and conspiracy. Yanet Patricia Arroyo, now 58, was arrested on charges of first, second and third-degree possession of a controlled substance and second-degree conspiracy on Oct. 6 of 1998. A 34-year-old mother of twin boys who worked registering new patients at a Queens hospital recently died from COVID-19 complications. Prea Nankieshore, who worked in the emergency room section of Jewish Hospital Forest Hills, died on Sunday, April 5. She lived with her parents in Ozone Park. Nankieshore did not have any underlying conditions that could contribute to her death. Woman Charged With Drug Possession In Nassau County Has Been At Large For Decades
An alert has been issued by New York State Police investigators regarding a woman born in Mexico with ties to Colombia who has been wanted for more than 20 years on Long Island. Yanet Patricia Arroyo, 57, of Ozone Park, is wanted by New York State Police in Farmingdale after she was arrested on Oct. 6, 1998, by members of the Troop L Narcotics Enforcement Unit.
