$18.3 Million Resurfacing Project To Begin On Long Island Roads
Governor Kathy Hochul announced the beginning of a new two-year road resurfacing project that will affect five state roads on Long Island. The $18.3 million project, which builds on an ongoing $250 million investment into Long Island roads, will begin in July 2024, Hochul said. Closure In Both Directions Scheduled For Hutchinson River Parkway
Temporary lane closures have been scheduled in both directions on the Hutchinson River Parkway in Westchester in the coming weeks. The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) announced that the parkway will be closed between exit 6 (I-95 North/New Haven) in Pelham and exit 15 (Cross County Parkway/George Washington Bridge) in New Rochelle during the next two weeks. Long Island To Get $30.6M In State Funding For Pavement Restoration Projects
Millions of dollars are being invested for pavement restoration projects on major roadways on Long Island. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced a $30.6 million investment in pavement restoration projects to repair portions of five state roads in both Nassau and Suffolk counties totaling approximately 20 miles. $119M Project To Reconstruct Section Of Major Deegan Expressway Starts
A $119 million project to reconstruct a stretch of the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx has kicked off. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that construction has begun on the project in both directions of the expressway between West 161st Street and the Alexander Hamilton Bridge. Jones Beach Meadowbrook Parkway Toll Plaza To Be Demolished
This story has been updated. The familiar entrance to Jones Beach is being taken down in an improvement project. Work is underway on $3.9 million project to create a more welcoming approach to Jones Beach said the April 26 announcement by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo. The project will demolish an abandoned toll plaza on Meadowbrook Parkway and build a monumental gateway sign to welcome visitors to Jones Beach State Park.
