5 NY ShopRite Stores Permanently Close
Supermarket chain ShopRite has permanently closed five of its New York stores. The closures are all in the Capital Region, WRGB CBS 6 reports: Albany County: Albany, Colonie, and Slingerlands Rensselaer County: North Greenbush Schenectady County: Niskayuna The locations were initially slated to close in early December 2023, but the company told WRGB it didn’t have the inventory to keep the doors open any longer. Flu Season is Already Widespread Across New York, Health Department Says
As cooler weather has moved in across New York state, cases of flu have already become widespread. State health officials say the pesky, and sometimes deadly, virus is rapidly ramping up with 44 counties reporting flu cases in the first weeks of October. The Delta variant continues to run wild throughout New York as the COVID-19 positive infection rate on Long Island continues to rise, up near 2 percent.
