Beginning on Monday, June 12, and lasting through Friday, June 16, all eastbound traffic between Exit 36B (State Route 135/Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway) in Oyster Bay and Exit 42 (State Route 231/Deer Park Avenue) in Huntington will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 p.m., according to the New York State Department of Transportation.
All westbound traffic will also be closed between Exit 37A (Interstate 495/Long Island Expressway) and State Route 135 in Oyster Bay for the same time frame.
The overnight closures are scheduled to facilitate bridge maintenance and drainage products, officials said.
Traffic will be redirected to the Long Island Expressway during the scheduled closures.
The NYSDOT said the closures are weather permitting.
Drivers are encouraged to plan accordingly and drive responsibly in work zones. Authorities warned that the fine for speeding in a work zone is doubled.
