Update An area man who allegedly brandished a machete during a road-rage incident on I-684 in Northern Westchester on Tuesday morning was arraigned on six charges. Route 22 Crash With Injuries Closes One Lane
A crash involving commercial vehicles has closed one lane of Route 22 at the Putnam/Dutchess County border, according to the New York State Police. Troopers are reporting the closure of the northbound lane in Pawling due to a crash in the early morning hours Tuesday near Akindale Road, said the New York State Police. Tanker Fire Causes Route 22 Closure
Route 22 is shut down in both directions Saturday night in the Town of Amenia between the Amenia Town Hall and the intersection of Route 343 following a tanker fire, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports just before 9:30 p.m. Traffic can still travel west on Route 44 towards Millbrook and east on Route 343 towards Connecticut. The road closure is due to the brakes on a loaded gasoline tanker catching fire and disabling the vehicle. The tank has not been compromised and there has been no release of hazardous materials. Update, 4 p.m. Both lanes have reopened on I-684 after a school bus crash earlier Tuesday afternoon. Original report: Two lanes are blocked on I-684 in Westchester following a school bus crash in which two adults onboard. Driver At Large After Crashing Stolen Vehicle On New Tappan Zee Bridge, Fleeing Scene
A man who crashed a stolen vehicle into the side of the New Tappan Zee Bridge and then fled is still on the run. The incident took place around 9:28 p.m. Saturday when the unidentified driver hit the concrete median on the Rockland/left side of the bridge and then fled on foot on the Thruway, said New York State Trooper, Michael Cassella. The vehicle, a white Ford Ranger was later found to have been stolen in Connecticut, he said. Troopers searched for the driver, but he was not apprehended. The incident is still under investigation, Cassella said.

Update: Route 82 has reopened after a crash blocked traffic for approximately three hours. Earlier report: East Fishkill police are asking motorists to avoid Route 82 in Dutchess County due to a crash that has blocked traffic. The crash occurred around 1:40 p.m. Monday between Palen and Lake Walton roads, according to dispatchers with the East Fishkill Police Department. Police Pursue New Lead In Fatal Crash On Taconic State Parkway
State police are asking for help locating a car that may have been racing a motorcycle on the Taconic State Parkway in Westchester County that ended with a fatal crash in late April. Scott V. McMahon, 27, of Yonkers, died in the crash around 7 p.m. April 28 near Exit 8 in the town of New Castle, said Trooper AJ Hicks. "Numerous witnesses have described a blue car that appeared to be racing the motorcycle; however, none of the information gathered so far has led to the identification of the vehicle," he said. Pickup Truck Bursts Into Flames After Crash At I-684/Saw Mill Junction
This story has been updated. Smoke was sent billowing through the air when a pickup truck became fully engulfed in flames at the merger of I-684 and the Saw Mill River Parkway on Thursday morning. First responders were dispatched at approximately 11 a.m. to I-684, at the Saw Mill River Parkway juncture near exit 43 in Katonah, where there was a multi-vehicle crash that left one car in flames near the guardrail of the southbound lanes. Two School Buses Involved In Area Crash
About 20 students and a couple of adults are being evaluated following a crash between two school buses at the intersection of Route 311 and North Terry Hill Road in the Hamlet of Lake Carmel in the Town of Kent.
