Newtown Teacher Charged With Sexual Assault Of Student For Second Time
A music teacher has been charged with alleged sexual assault of a minor student in Northern Fairfield County. Richard Neal, age 69, of Newtown, was charged on Thursday, Jan. 4 by the Newtown Police Department. According to Det. Lt. Liam Seabrook of the Newtown Police, Neal was arrested following an investigation into having an inappropriate relationship who was a minor at the time. Neal was arrested last year on the same charges with another student, Seabrook said. Yorktown Town Supervisor Matt Slater confirmed that the building department has received plans for a new supermarket to be constructed on Crompond Road (Route 202) following months of construction at the shopping center. Man Accused Of Engaging In Sex Act With Minor At Area Hotel
A 46-year-old man has been accused of engaging in a sex act with a child at an area hotel and authorities say they are now looking for other possible victims. New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Northern Fairfield County resident Eric J. Fenyes, of Sherman, on Tuesday, Feb. 18 and charged him with second-degree criminal sex act, a Class D felony. An investigation determined Fenyes engaged in sexual conduct with a victim under 15 years of age at a hotel in the Town of Poughkeepsie in November of 2019, according to state police. A quick-acting team of emergency responders used a high-speed diamond cutter to remove a seat belt stuck to a child's finger in Northern Fairfield County. It happened Friday night, Sept. 13. New Fairfield Fire and EMS requested mutual aide from the Danbury Fire Department for a 5-year-old boy with a finger stuck in the seat belt buckle from his school bus. Travel Delays Continue Following Danbury Dump Truck Crash
Motorists can expect continued significant travel delays through the evening commute in Northern Fairfield County after a dump truck struck a pole, bringing down power lines earlier Monday. The crash took place around 10:10 a.m. Monday at 3 Plumtrees Road in Danbury when the truck, exiting a business with its bed extended struck the power lines over the roadway, said Danbury PD Det.
