Arrested were Anthony Ramos, 28, and William Tyson, 26. Ramos is a police officer with the city of Danbury Police Department in Connecticut, authorities said.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a larceny from a vehicle on Arthursburg Road in LaGrange about 1:40 a.m. Sept. 25, according to the Sheriff's Department.
Ramos and Tyson were found near the scene, and further investigation linked them to the reported larceny as well as several others in the LaGrange area, the Sheriff's Department said.
Both were taken into custody at the scene and transported for processing. Both men are also accused of entering unlocked vehicles and stealing property at numerous residences in the Town of LaGrange, authorities said.
Both men have been charged with one count of fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony. After processing both were released on appearance tickets. Numerous items of suspected stolen property have been recovered by the Sheriff’s Office, including GPS units and pocketbooks, authorities said.
