Alert Issued For Capital Region Woman Missing Several Weeks Police are asking for help in locating a woman from the region who has been missing for several weeks. Schoharie County resident Carlie Mace was officially reported missing on Monday, Aug. 5, weeks after relatives last had contact with her. Sheriff’s officials said her last known location was in Schenectady. Mace is 5-foot-6 and 210 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Duo Busted Posing As Rideshare Drivers In Capital Region, Police Say Police are warning Uber and Lyft customers to be on the lookout for fake rideshare drivers. In Saratoga County, the Saratoga Springs Police Department received multiple complaints about people pretending to work for rideshare companies and accepting fares around the Saratoga Racetrack and downtown areas. On Thursday, Aug. 1, the department conducted a targeted enforcement detail in those areas, ultimately arresting one driver and citing another. Body Of Man Who Jumped From Hudson Valley Bridge Recovered The body of a man who jumped from a bridge in the region has been recovered. The incident occurred on the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge on Saturday, Aug. 3. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, a preliminary investigation revealed that a 21-year-old Montgomery man jumped from the bridge mid-span at around 11:25 a.m.  The New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team recovered the body on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024, at approximately 2:25 p.m.  The man's identity has not been released pending family notification.  This is a developing story. On Tuesday, July 16 at approximately 6:45 p.m. in Sullivan County, police responded to a 911 call of a child left in a vehicle at the Sleepy Hollow Apartment Complex in Monticello. Upon arrival, officers located a 2-year-old boy in a 2012 Ford Explorer suffering from cardiac arrest, New York State Police said.
