Alysha Menzies "always had a song in her head and her heart," a loved one wrote in tribute as word spread that the music tragically and unexpectedly had stopped. Menzies, 27, of Garfield, was driving a sedan that apparently slammed into the back of a flatbed tow truck on westbound Route 3 near Route 120 in East Rutherford shortly after 4 a.m. Friday, May 6, responders said. The flatbed was carrying a Mercedes SUV that fell onto her car, which burst into flames, they said. A 27-year-old Garfield woman who was pronounced dead at the scene of a fiery overnight crash near the Meadowlands "always had a song in her head and her heart," a loved one wrote in tribute.
