Strutter, who was nursed back to health then, is once again being nursed back to health --- this time after being hit by a car outside his West Milford home last week.
“He went out of sight and as I ran to the end of the driveway calling for him, I heard him being hit by a car. I rushed him to the emergency vet, he was limping and bleeding from the nose,” Lota wrote on a GoFundMe page she created to raise money for Strutter’s vet bills.
The page had garnered more than $4,000 in donations by Wednesday afternoon.
Strutter had internal bleeding, a large blood clot and a ruptured spleen, Lota wrote.
“He's obviously got a big recoup in front of him but we will take that one day at a time … He's home, he's comfortable, he's safe - that's what matters,” she wrote. “My heart is full once again.”
