One of the topics Mary Laumbach-Perez, a certified employment support professional, will explore is the concept of a "twice exceptional" student. These students may have learning, developmental, behavioral and social or emotional challenges. Yet, they also may excel in areas such as art, music, science, math, technology or mechanics.
These areas of excellence may be overlooked, due to the students' disabilities or labeled as behavioral problems. Because these students may work and learn differently, including repeatedly asking for clarification, they may be at high risk for underachievement and are under served and under stimulated.
The session is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. You can register online.
