Trump Nominates NJ's Charles Kushner For Ambassador To France President-elect Donald Trump has named New Jersey's Charles Kushner to serve as the United States Ambassador to France, he announced Saturday, Nov. 30. Kushner, 70, an Elizabeth native, is the father of Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and was pardoned by Trump in 2020, having been convicted years earlier of illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, and witness tampering. The city held a dedication ceremony for the Bernie Friedenberg World War II Memorial on Thursday, June 6.
