NTSB Releases Early Findings From Deadly NJ Transit Train Crash Involving Fallen Tree Probe
A branch of a tree that had fallen on tracks broke through a New Jersey Transit train's windshield, killing the operator in Burlington County, officials said. The National Transportation Safety Board released its preliminary investigation into the Thursday, Oct. 15 crash. Jessica Haley, 41, of Levittown, Pennsylvania, was the conductor who died south of the Roebling station in Mansfield Township. Motorcyclist Ejected At Jersey Shore Intersection Dies In Crash, Police Say
A Brick Township man was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle at an intersection, authorities said. Horace Giambona, 64, died in the crash on Wednesday, Oct. 23, the Brick Township Police Department said in a news release. Officers responded to the wreck at the intersection of Brick and Yorktowne boulevards at around 2:34 p.m. Investigators said Giambona was traveling north on Brick Boulevard and approached the intersection. Head-On Crash Leaves Two People Seriously Injured In Camden County
Two people were hospitalized with serious injuries when a vehicle crossed over the double yellow line and hit another head-on in Camden County on Wednesday, Oct. 23, police said. Police said the vehicle in the northbound lane crossed the center line on College Drive at Cherrywood Drive in Gloucester Township around 12 p.m. Arriving officers found two vehicles in the road with significant damage. A 3-year-old boy has died after being struck by an 81-year-old driver on a busy New Jersey roadway, police said. The Lindenwold boy was struck by a southbound Cherry Hill man on Route 73 at Holtec Drive around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 in Evesham, according to local police. A New Jersey boy was killed when a tree fell on him in a backyard, authorities said. Lucas Schwartz, 12, was identified as the victim of the Eldridge Avenue incident in Lawrence Township on a GoFundMe page.
