ID Of Tow Truck Operator Killed By Passing Car On Route 19 Released
A tow truck operator was killed by a passing vehicle on Route 19 over the weekend, authorities said. Manuel Perez, 64, was trying to hook another vehicle to his truck on the southbound side of the highway when he was struck by a Toyota sedan that then struck the tow truck and overturned around 11:40 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 3 at milepost 2-3, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Hoboken-Bound Train Hits Sedan In Bergen County
A Nissan sedan was struck by a New Jersey Transit train Thursday morning, Sept. 19 in Ho-Ho-Kus. Train 1110 on the Main-Bergen County line was briefly delayed following the crash just before 10:15 a.m. at the Hollywood Avenue crossing, which left the sedan severely damaged, according to incident reporter Boyd A. Loving and an NJ Transit spokesperson. MBPJ train #1110, the 11:06 AM arrival into Hoboken, is currently delayed due to striking a motor vehicle near Hohokus. Route 17 Reopens After Early-Morning Car Fire
A portion of Route 17 was closed early Tuesday, Aug. 6 after a vehicle erupted in flames. The East Rutherford Fire Department extinguished the fire that destroyed a Mazda sedan in the northbound lanes outside of the Lowe's complex around 8 a.m. There did not appear to be any injuries.

7-Eleven Employee Shot During Robbery: Bloomfield PD
A 7-Eleven gas station attendant was shot during a robbery on Saturday, July 13, authorities said. Two men pulled up in a black sedan and demanded money from a gas station attendant, Bloomfield police said. The attendant refused to turn over the money and was shot in the leg with a black semiautomatic handgun, police said. The suspects proceeded to flee the scene, police said. The shooting remains under investigation, police said.

Man Shot In East Orange, Police Say
A 24-year-old East Orange man was shot on the evening of Monday, June 24, authorities said. At 7:25 p.m., officers responded to 210 S. Burnet Street and found the man shot in the right ankle, East Orange police said. He was treated and released from University Hospital, police said. Police are looking for four suspects who were wearing masks and fled the scene in a white Mercedes Benz sedan, officers said. The shooting remains under investigation, police said. Details Released In Deadly Dump Truck Crash In North Jersey Town
Authorities have released details in a dump truck crash on Route 31 in Clinton Township that left one person dead on Tuesday, June 18. A 66-year-old man was operating a dump truck that collided with a Toyota sedan driven by a 64-year-old woman around 2:20 p.m. in front of Riley and Jake's Restaurant, the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office said. Both vehicles were heading north. The Toyota then entered the southbound lane and collided with a Volkswagen, operated by a 17-year-old girl. An armed Clifton homeowner confronted and apparently scared off a group of vehicle thieves by firing a gunshot into the air, authorities said.
