A three-alarm fire injured three firefighters and displaced 49 people in Newark on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 16, authorities said. At 12:14 p.m., firefighters responded to 263 South Orange Ave. for a fire, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The fire extended to an adjacent building at 265 South Orange Ave. and a 2nd alarm was called, requesting additional firefighters to the scene at 12:48 p.m., Fragé said. A woman who was displaced by a fire months ago is reeling again in New Jersey after a second blaze claimed the life of her own mother and two children over the weekend in Essex County. At around 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, the West Orange Fire Department responded to a kitchen fire on Liberty Street, where they were met by heavy smoke and three unresponsive victims inside the home. One firefighter was injured in a two-alarm blaze at an apartment complex in Linden on the morning of Sunday, July 14, authorities said. At 10:30 a.m., first responders were on scene at Hollywood Terrace Apartments in Linden on a report of a fire, Linden police said in a release. Brandon Amaro, a 21-year-old Roselle resident, was identified as the victim in a two-car crash on Saturday, June 29, authorities said. 18 Displaced By East Orange Fire, Officials Say
A fire ripped through a three-family home in East Orange on the early morning of Saturday, June 29, displacing 18 people, authorities said. At 5:23 a.m., firefighters in East Orange responded to the blaze at 135 Greenwood Avenue and were able to bring the fire under control 30 minutes later, a spokeswoman for the city said. Three families, comprised of 18 people, were able to escape the fire with no injuries, authorities said. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced families as the home was deemed inhabitable, authorities said.

Authorities are investigating a fiery crash that let one person dead in Roselle. It happened on the in the 400 block of East 1st Street where two vehicles purportedly collided head-on.
