'Medical Misfortune': South Jersey Firefighter In ICU With Brain Bleed, Fundraiser Says A volunteer fire department in Monroeville was rallying to support a firefighter who was airlifted to a Philadelphia hospital, according to a fundraising campaign. Justin Parker, 42, was taken by helicopter to the Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience after a "medical emergency" at work on Thursday, Aug. 15, according to a GoFundMe page. Fire Chief Jeff Foote said Parker was put on a ventilator in the intensive care unit with a brain bleed.
