Hackensack Man, 18, Charged With Paterson Murder
An 18-year-old Hackensack man became the second defendant charged in the cold-blooded killing of a 20-year-old Paterson resident on a Silk City street corner. Jaheem Glaze was captured without incident in East Orange early Friday by a strike team composed of Paterson police, Passaic County prosecutor’s detectives and members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, authorities said. : Freed On Double Gun Rap, Young Paterson Man Shoots, Kills Another, Authorities Say
UPDATE: A 19-year-old Paterson man who’d been released under bail reform after police said they found him and two companions carrying a pair of guns during a traffic stop was charged in the subsequent murder of a 20-year-old city resident. Rasheed Thomas was with two other men when city detectives stopped them for running a stop sign in May and found two 9mm handguns in the vehicle, authorities said at the time. Paterson Detectives Seize Four Guns, Bust Five In Fight Against Firearms
Paterson detectives who've been fighting escalating gun violence in the Silk City seized four firearms over a span of a little over 24 hours, authorities said Friday. The biggest bust involved three men – one of them an ex-con – caught with a pair of guns shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday, Police Director Jerry Speziale said.
