See New Walkway That's Making This NJ Town More Pedestrian Friendly Montgomery is about to get a little more pedestrian friendly. The township will be holding a ribbon cutting ceremony for its new pedestrian pathway on Skillman Road on Wednesday, Oct. 16.  The half-mile pedestrian pathway connects Otto Kaufman Community Center, Montgomery High School and other neighboring areas. The smokestack in Great Egg Harbor Bay in Beesleys Point is set to implode at 10 a.m. Residents can watch on a Facebook Live here provided by OffShoreDrones. The facility is clearly visible from the Garden State Parkway bridge between Atlantic and Cape May counties. Sparta's First ShopRite Will Be Its Largest Supermarket Yet Sparta's first-ever ShopRite is set to open later this month. The 95,000-square-foot supermarket on North Village Boulevard will be the largest that Sparta has ever had, according to NJ.com. The completion of the grocery store, opening Oct. 23, and the construction of a 40,000-square-foot space for tenants mark the first phase of a three-part project. Phase II will bring 58 townhouses and an assisted living facility, and a park and 92 residential lots going up in Phase III, the project builder KLAE said.
