Totowa Man Gets 18 Years In Teen Stabbing Death

TOTOWA, N.J.– A 23-year-old Totowa man was sentenced to 18 years in prison for the July 2013 stabbing death of a Cedar Grove teen, authorities said Friday.

Jonathan LaFontaine grabbed two knives from a Little Falls home and stabbed 18-year-old Brian Topoleski four times after a fight , Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said. 

Jonathan LaFontaine pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter on April 22, Valdes said.

An additional five-year sentence was added for a probation violation, she added.
