Harry was born in Miami, but she only spent the first three months there: she was quickly adopted by a Hawthorne couple. She attended Hawthorne High School.
She is best known for her work with the multifaceted band Blondie, which was active from 1974 to 1982 and 1997 to present. The group was quite popular in the U.K. and Australia before really making it with American audiences. It wasn't until "Heart of Glass," the group's third single from its third album, that Blondie really broke out in the U.S.
Harry has recorded 10 studio albums with the band -- including 2014's "Ghosts of Download" -- and several solo albums. She has also had scores of film and TV roles, as well as a multitude of appearances as herself, including on "The Daily Show" and, back in the day, "The Muppet Show."
