Manville Man In His 30s Dies In Route 22 Crash
A man in his 30s died in a crash on Route 22 in Somerset County Wednesday, authorities said. Bound Brook police responded to the eastbound side of the roadway following multiple 911 calls reporting a crash between Vosseller and Mountain avenues around 11:20 a.m., Deputy Chief Kevin Rivenbark said. The Manville man, whose identity was not being released, was pronounced dead at the scene. Several witnesses pulled over and cooperated with the investigation. A 29-year-old Bound Brook man was indicted on several charges stemming from a seven-alarm fire that tore through the borough in January, authorities said Thursday. Juan Hector Padilla was indicted on charges of second-degree burglary, second-degree aggravated arson, third-degree aggravated assault for injury to a firefighter and third-degree hindering apprehension of oneself, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. A 28-year-old Bound Brook man was charged with arson following a massive fire that tore through the downtown district Sunday night. Juan Hector Padilla, of East Second Street, was arrested Monday and charged with second-degree arson and hindering investigation apprehension, along with providing false information, the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office said. A seven-alarm fire tore through downtown Bound Brook Sunday night. The blaze broke out just before 8 p.m. in an unoccupied pair of buildings under construction on East Main Street near Mountain Avenue in the commercial district.
